Faith Magalong

  • CANDIDATE: Faith Magalong
  • RUNNING FOR: SBO Vice-President

  • WHY do you want to be SBO?
    • I liked how involved I was able to be last year as an SBO and I want to take it a step further this year. I want to continue coming up with things to benefit the student body and the school as a whole. I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to get involved with the schools inner workings, but I know I can do better this year.
  • What skills, talents, expertise, or things will you add to SBO?
    • I am able to work with anyone, and can represent my class well. I learned how to effectively communicate with different people last year, and I can communicate a task so that everyone understands. I know how to stay organized and on task, and I can help people without biases. I’m adaptable, and if I don’t know an answer to something, I’ll know someone who does have that answer.
  • What ideas do you have for SBO or for UMA for 2020-2021?
    • I want to improve student involvement. We made progress last year with participation in things like assemblies and dances, but I want to continue the momentum and keep getting students involved. I want to change how we organize assemblies, what with everyone walking around or trying to do everything themselves, and change how we handle things like nominations for dances. I saw how efficiently online nominations worked for prom royalty this year, and I want to continue that as we go throughout the year. Instead of physically signing up for activities, the student body could try signing up online to see how it works. I’d like to see if it would work for activities like the talent show or maybe even music choices for a dance.
